Hi friends!
As most of you know, my wife Heidi Raye and I became a singer-songwriter duo, Johnny and Heidi, when we got together in 2018. We'd love for you to follow our @johnnyandheidi socials and join up for our mailing list at www.johnnyandheidi.com to continue receiving updates and to keep up with us!
Johnny Bulford
Johnny Bulford is a multi-platinum, award-winning songwriter and performer whose career began after winning the national singing competition Colgate Country Showdown. A gifted storyteller and accomplished songwriter, Johnny has built a career creating songs that connect with audiences through honesty, emotion, and unforgettable stories.
His songwriting credits include the #1 hit A Woman Like You, recorded by Lee Brice, which went on to become a triple-platinum single and earned Johnny the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) “Top 10 Songs I Wish I Had Written” award. The song was also nominated for ACM Song of the Year, recognizing it among the finest country songs of its year.
Johnny has also written five songs recorded by Chris Young, including the #1 single Lonely Eyes, which went on to achieve platinum status. His songs have been recorded by numerous artists throughout the country music world. For nine years, he was a staff songwriter with Warner Chappell Music, one of Nashville’s most respected music publishing companies, further establishing him as a sought-after writer in the country music community.
Whether he’s performing on stage or crafting a song in a writing room, Johnny’s greatest gift is his ability to turn real-life experiences into music that makes people feel something. His passion for storytelling has shaped a career defined by authentic songs, meaningful connections, and a genuine love for the people who hear them.
Johnny and Heidi
Johnny and Heidi are an award-winning husband-and-wife country music duo whose lives and careers are built around a shared love of music, storytelling, and service. Together, they bring two accomplished songwriting and performing careers to the stage, creating an experience that is heartfelt, authentic, and deeply connected to their audiences.
Beyond touring and recording, Johnny and Heidi are proud songwriters and facilitators for CreatiVets, a nationally recognized Nashville nonprofit that uses music and the arts to help veterans heal. Through songwriting, they create a safe space for veterans to bring some of their toughest memories, emotions, and experiences out into the open and into a song—giving a voice to things that can be difficult to say and transforming painful memories into something meaningful, healing, and shared. For Johnny and Heidi, this work is at the very heart of who they are as artists and is the most important and meaningful part of their music.
They are especially proud to bring CreatiVets’ work to The Villages, FL, in partnership with Combat Veterans to Careers, creating an opportunity to serve and celebrate the more than 100,000 veterans who call the surrounding community home—from Post-9/11 veterans to those who served in Vietnam, Korea, and World War II. With the support of a community that deeply honors and stands behind its veterans, Johnny and Heidi hope to give local veterans a place to share the experiences they’ve carried, turn their memories into music, and find connection and healing through the power of a song.
For Johnny and Heidi, music is more than entertainment. It can be a powerful tool for connection, healing, and hope. Through their work with veterans, they are honored to use the gift of songwriting to help veterans heal and to give back to those who gave so much.
